Vitan-Biotech, LLC produces innovative functionalized microscope glass slide surfaces with advanced 3-dimensional structures for the facile and effective fabrication of protein microarrays and carbohydrate microarrays. Theses microarray platform substrates offer a wide range of benefits in preparing microarrays compared to conventional epoxy-silane or NHS surfaces including low background and ease-of-use to maintain protein activities.
  • PET surface for protein microarrays:

    The PET surface coated glass slides are nano-engineered with 3-D polyelectrolyte thin films. Antibodies or antigens can be immobilized in the PET-coated glass slides by electrostatic adsorption and entrapment within the porous structure of the 3-D polymer film, and thus establish a platform for parallel analysis. Both antigen and antibody microarrays can be fabricated on the PET-coated slides, and direct and indirect immunoassays on protein microarrays for multiple-analyte detection were demonstrated and evaluated. Microarrays produced on these PET-coated slides provide many performance features needed for proteomic analysis, such as high binding capacity, consistent spot morphology, low non-specific interaction, high sensitivity and wide dynamic ranges. In addition, the proteins arrayed on PET surface are immobilized in semi-wet environment and are maintained in native structure due to the amphiphilicity nature of polyelectrolyte. The PET coated slide is well suited for immobilizing many types of biological molecules so that a wide variety of microarray formats can be developed on this type of slide.

  • PEG-aminooxy surface for fabricating carbohydrate microarrays:

    The PEG-aminooxy coated glass slide consists of a high density aminooxyacetyl functionalized poly-ethylene-glycol (PEG) film, which is ideal for the fabrication of carbohydrate microarrays with native sugars. This slide also has lowest non-specific interaction and auto-fluorescent background ideal for high-throughput measurement of glycan-protein interactions.
